It's overwhelming to think about writing all of the things that we did these past few weeks.
So, here are some snapshots of our time:
at the US embassy getting the little man his passport |
taking a nap at his girlfriend harper's flat |
we have a 10 pounder on our hands - filling out the stripes 1 week vs 3 weeks |

Everyone is gone now . . . back to America and back to work for D! Yesterday (Monday) was my first full day alone with Ryan. It happened to fall on a day that he wasn't sleeping normally and spitting up more than usual. Could he sense the pressure I put on myself to have a 'seamless' first day? I'm wise enough to know that they don't exist as a new (or even a veteran) parent, but I did have high hopes.Today (Tuesday) was a much better day. We had a great night sleep and were fed, clothed, and out of the house by 10am. The pride really peaked when we showed up to the chiropractor 10 minutes EARLY!! I mean, I was just happy to get us out of the house . . . but to be early was pretty impressive for Day 2.
We then ate lunch at Le Pain on Kings Road and strolled home after stopping into a few stores along the way. It's amazing how a small accomplishment can change the outlook of the day in a super positive way.
RyGuy is sleeping now and I'm ready to do the same. Can't wait for Daddy to be home, but in the meantime will close my eyes and dream about a successful Day 3.
Spoiler alert: Day 3 was a success as well! Traveled a few miles away to meet with some of the ladies D and I did our prenatal class with. Felt good to get out of the house and chat about our babies and what we've been up to as new moms.
